The B-17 is a strategic bomber developed by Boeing. It was known as 'The Flying Fortress' because of its strong bulletproof equipment and powerful defensive firearms. This kit uses parts made by Academy, and reproduces a mass-produced B-17B with its engine replaced with a more powerful R-1820-65 engine, with refurbished turrets and self-sealing fuel tanks. Decals for a U.S. Army Air Force aircraft that was used during the attack on Pearl Harbor are included, as is a masking sticker for the canopy.
